Chamber 8 · Clause §10
Walsh Karra Holdings runs Semios for now.
Walsh Karra Holdings runs Semios while it is being built. Once Semios can stand on its own, WKH steps back.
What exists
When 23andMe sold to TTAM in July 2025, the asset on the auction block was the genetic identity of 15 million people. None of them consented to the transfer.
Companies that collect identity, voice, work, or biology hold the right to transfer that material when they themselves are sold. The TTAM redirect only happened because state attorneys general stepped in. Without them, the data would have gone to a pharmaceutical buyer. Same pattern in the AI training cases. Same pattern in platform acquisitions. The company gets bought, and everything that ran through it goes with it.

What is possible
In 2022, Patagonia's founder transferred 100% of the voting stock to a purpose trust. The mission is locked into the ownership structure. The model is spreading.
Yvon Chouinard and family gave Patagonia to a purpose trust in September 2022. The trust holds the voting stock so the mission cannot be sold. Profits go to the Holdfast Collective for climate work. Patagonia joined an older tradition: Bosch, Carl Zeiss, Rolex, Carlsberg. Paul Newman did the same kind of thing earlier with Newman's Own. By 2025, more than 6,500 US companies were partly or fully worker-owned, Bob's Red Mill and King Arthur Baking among them. Ownership does not have to mean extraction.
